Pei-Qi Ho (“Quesilla”) graduated with both the Masters and Bachelor Degree in Human Nutrition from Australia. She accomplished a year of internship in various settings, which include community centres and hospitals. She is currently a registered member of Nutrition Society Australia (NSA) and Nutrition Society Malaysia (NSM), specialising in Childhood Nutrition, Diabetes Management, Weight Loss Management and Sport Nutrition. After graduating from university, she spent two years working in Melbourne as a Nutritional Advisor within the Food and Beverage Industry where she had to design specialty menus, which include low calories diet, gluten free diet, high residue diet, Atkins diet and more to suit the needs and conditions of individuals. Besides that, Quesilla also works very closely with the Department of Health, Schools Representatives and Health Care Professionals to advocate healthy eating and wellbeing for primary school children. A couple of works that she was involved in includes projects in ‘healthy-lunch box’ programme and ‘school-kitchen garden’ programme which sets off to educate children and parents on the right food choices. She was also actively involved in public speaking and facilitating educational seminars to pre-diagnosed diabetic patients & Weight Loss Programmes.
Chew Lian Tan (‘Chew’) graduated with honors in Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) from University of Nottingham, Malaysia. She had previously completed an internship in a prestigious FMCG company, Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad as a Quality Assurance Assistant. Moreover, Chew was also involved in Fruit Smoothie Recipe Development in collaboration with chefs from the Berjaya School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. She is a keen traveller and often explores the food culture & lifestyle in countries around the world. This passion has inspired her to encourage herself and people around her to consume more servings of fruits & vegetables as well as developing more nutritious food recipes. Chew is good in providing better food substitutions and she often turns cheat treats into clean, healthy, and nutritious meals.
Zalikha Binti Razali, graduated with honours in Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Universiti of Teknologi Mara (UiTM). She accomplished her internship as clinical dietitian in three places, Hospital Selayang, Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail Batu Pahat and Klinik Kesihatan Greentown Ipoh where she have performed nutritional assessment to determine appropriate nutrition intervention and recommendations, provide nutrition education and counselling for patients on obesity, diabetes (type I type II and GDM), hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, tube feeding regimes (EN and TPN), renal disease and cancer management. She accomplished her internship for food service in Hospital Pulau Pinang where she involved in tray line, pantry, kitchen and cooking for hospital patients and had the chance to serve the food to the patients. She did her industrial placement at Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia, where she had the opportunity to assist, guide, teach the dyslexic children and conduct, programmed Go Kids! Go healthy for them. She is an active student during university years, as she had taken part in many activities, such as representative for department in Sports Tournament between Faculties, participated in community events such as Karnival Kesihatan “Anda Sihat, Anda Hebat!”, Karnival Kesihatan “Nak Sihat? Jom!”. ‘Hari Interaksi Pemakanan Dan Dietetik’ which involve dietetics student in other Universities.
Wai Leng Poh graduated with a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from Australia. She had completed more than six months’ placement in various settings, which included community centre and hospitals. After graduating from her Master degree, she spent two years with both National Kidney Foundation, Singapore and Alive Organic. Prior to that, she spent more than seven years worked as a Nutritionist/ healthcare advisor in healthcare setting. All of the places gave her an opportunity to develop hands-on skills including:
- Completed counselled, provided nutritional care plans and monitored the progress of the clients, including diabetes management, cardiac health, weight management, females with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), tube feeding regimes (EN and TPN) and renal disease management
- Facilitated group education workshops, such as “Diabetes management”, “Eating plan for hypercholesterolemia”, “Diet to defy dementia cooking program” and “How to maintain healthy hair using an organic way”
- Revised renal nutrition games for patients receiving hemodialysis
- Completed update a hospital cyclic food menu and allergy checklist
- Trained, monitored and assisted Food Science/ Nutrition interns to meet all their course criteria
She is a member of both the Malaysian Dietitians Association (MDA), and the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). She enjoys sharing her knowledge of nutrition and food; and the benefits of nutrition with others to enhance their quality of life. She also come to respect and understand the rapport and trust developed between a nutritionist and the client. She is a great motivator and ready to accept new challenge.
Ahmad Aizat Bin Abd Ghani graduated with honours in Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and he was assigned as the 4th President of Nutrition and Dietetics Students’ Association (NADA). During his internship, he had successfully involved in several projects which include educating healthy eating for children with special abilities (especially Down Syndrome and Autism) through consulting a gluten-free and low-fat diet together with exercise coaching at Kiwanis Club of Muar, Johor. Furthermore, he completed his food service internship in DEMC Specialist Hospital, Shah Alam that experienced in preparing therapeutic diet and managed most of the food service operations. Meanwhile, he completed his clinical internship in various setting which include Klinik Kesihatan Kelana Jaya, Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail, Batu Pahat and Hospital Umum Sarawak. He not only had opportunity to conduct a nutritional talk with cooking demonstration on diabetes management. He also gained a valuable experiences in counselled and provided dietary education in both inpatients and outpatients with variety medical conditions including weight management, metabolic syndrome, paediatrics related care, and cancer management.
