Mental health problems are often underestimated, under diagnosed and misunderstood. According to The National Health and Morbidity Survey 2015 conducted by Minister of Health Malaysia, approximately 29.2% of Malaysians, 16 years old and above had experience some series of mental disorders including depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.
Depression affects people from all walks of life. It is more than just a mood swing, sadness or the result of chemical imbalance. Unmanaged depression can result in lack of motivation to carry out the simplest everyday task, losing the ability to feel pleasure in the things you often enjoyed and withdrawing yourself from your social relationships including family and friends.
A campaign with the title “Depression: Let’s talk” will be organized by World Health Organization on 7 April in conjunction of World Health Day to create awareness among the public to have a better understanding of depression. Remember, although depression can be treated, it is always better to prevent than to cure.
If you are feeling sad or moody for a prolong period (weeks, months or even years), we suggest that you seek help from a mental health professional or a counselor or even a doctor about treatment options and preferences.
This April, in line with World Health Day, La Juiceria would like to help keep your mental health in check with Chocolate Almond Mylk.
